Welcome to The Mongolian Experiment!

Today marks the launch of the most ambitious project I’ve ever worked on, The Mongolian Experiment. What is The Mongolian Experiment, you ask?

In short, The Mongolian Experiment (TME) is an experiment in crowdsourcing the funding, research, and marketing of an international journalism project. I will be making my way through every aimag (province) of Mongolia on horseback with only a pack horse and a guide as company, documenting the issues facing contemporary Mongolia. It’s going to be big, it’s going to be complicated, but it’s also going to be a whole hell of a lot of fun to put together. I hope that you will join me in this process.

To learn more about the project, I suggest checking out the “About the Project” or FAQ pages. If you want to find out how you can help (and everyone can), please visit the “How can I help?” page. To learn about the wonderful folks who are already helping out, check out the “Staff” page; who knows, maybe some day you will be on there yourself!
